Introducing the classic standard zoom featuring Vibration Reduction image stabilization, Nikon’s AF-S NIKKOR 24-70mm f/2.8E ED VR Lens is a truly adaptable wide-angle to short telephoto lens distinguished by its constant f/2.8 maximum aperture and electromagnetic aperture mechanism. An amended ocular design produces a unique aspherical extra-low dispersion element, along with the addition of three aspherical, dual extra-low dispersion, and one high refractive index element, to help lessen chromatic aberrations and distortions while zooming the range in order to achieve high image sharpness quality and clarity. The Nano Crystal and Super Integrated Coatings reduce lens flare for improved contrast and color accuracy and fluorine coatings on the front and rear elements protect against dust, moisture, and smudging.

A Silent Wave Motor AF system produces a quick and quiet focusing performance that is suitable for both stills shooting and movie recording, which can be swap quickly to manual handling by just simply turning the manual focus ring. In fast-paced situations and difficult lighting, VR (Vibration Reduction) image stabilization help and reduce camera shake effects of camera shake by up to four shutter speed stops. Additionally, an electromagnetic aperture mechanism is inbuilt into the lens design to provide greater exposure control stability that is preferred while working with faster continuous shooting rates.

Grade zoom designed for use with FX-format Nikon F-mount cameras, this lens can also be used with DX models where it will help to provide a 36-105mm equivalent focal length range. Vibration Reduction image stabilization helps to minimize the appearance of camera shake by up to four shutter speeds to better enable handheld shooting in low-light situations. Silent Wave Motor features quick, quiet, and precise autofocus performance along with full-time manual focus override. An internal focus design is also used during focusing, to maintain the overall length of the lens during use and to promote faster focusing speeds.

A specialized electromagnetic aperture mechanism provides greater exposure control stability that is especially beneficial when working with fast continuous shooting rates.
